SUMMARY:Forest Recovery: the Challenge of Invasive Species
DESCRIPTION:Maureen Flatley pulling Garlic Mustard at Newport\n\n\n\nAs Wisconsin highlights Invasive Species weekend\, join park volunteers and master naturalists Maureen and Tom Flatley as they hike into the area of Newport that was devastated by a straight-line windstorm in August of 2025. You will see firsthand not only what forest recovery looks like\, but also the challenges that invasive species play in the ongoing recovery process. \n\n\n\nThis will be a 3-mile hike. Terrain will be rough in places\, with tripping hazards like rocks\, roots\, downed tree branches and loose debris. \n\n\n\nMeet at the Visitor Center\, Lot 1. (This is the correct location\, not Lot 3.)
