DESCRIPTION:The Hike this Week \n\n\n\nNewport/Ridge Trail (west)3.6 milesMeet at Lot 3 at 9:00am \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAs part of the Wisconsin DNR OutWiGo initiative to get outside and participate in healthy activities\, Newport naturalists are leading a 13-week progressive hiking challenge covering every trail in the park.   \n\n\n\nHikes will take place on Tuesday at 9:00am. We begin on June 9 with one of the shortest trails and end with the longest trail loop (7-ish miles) on September 1. Please join us when you can. On the final hike (Sept 3)\, miles will be tallied and participants will enjoy a pot-luck picnic.  \n\n\n\nThese are not interpretive hikes; the purpose is to get out and enjoy some physical activity. Everyone is encouraged to hike at a pace that is comfortable for them. Hikes will be held as scheduled\, except for extreme weather conditions. (We hike in the rain!)  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll programs are free\, but a state park admission sticker is required on all vehicles.
