We start on May 24th with one of the shortest trails and end with the longest trail loop (7-ish miles) on Aug 16th. Please join us when you can. On the final hike (Aug 16th)\, miles will be tallied and participants will enjoy a pot-luck picnic together.  \n\n\n\nThese are not interpretive hikes; the purpose is to get out and enjoy some physical activity. Everyone is encouraged to hike at a pace that is comfortable for them. Hikes will be held as scheduled\, except for extreme weather conditions. (We hike in the rain!)  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAll programs are free\, but a WI State Park admission sticker is required on all vehicles.

DESCRIPTION:Help our state bats by participating in this Citizen Science program.  \n\n\n\nOur hibernating bats are in great danger of being wiped out because of white-nose syndrome (WNS)\, a white\, powdery fungus on the muzzle of infected bats that causes die offs of multiple species of bats in infected hibernation sites. We start with a PowerPoint presentation at the shelter building then we look to the heavens through a high powered telescope to experience stars\, planets and galaxies. On the final hike (Aug 16th)\, miles will be tallied and participants will enjoy a pot-luck picnic together.  \n\n\n\nThese are not interpretive hikes; the purpose is to get out and enjoy some physical activity.
