Survival Series: Primitive Fire Making Workshop

Learn the skills of our ancestors. Try your hand at the many and exciting ways to start a fire!

Join park naturalist, fire chief and investigator, teacher and campfire expert Ken Foszcz as he shares his wealth of knowledge and techniques. Ken has been involved in ski patrol, mountain search and rescue and instructing about Fire Science at a technical college. This interactive workshop will include use of bow drill, flint and steel and magnifying glass to start a camp fire.

Meet at the shelter building, accessible from Lot 3.


Covid-19 Guidelines: Group sizes vary and may be limited to promote social distancing. Participants are encouraged to practice social distancing, frequent hand washing and to wear a face covering if social distancing cannot be maintained. All programs will be outdoors.
