Story in the Rocks Geology Hike

A Newport Wilderness Days Event

Join geologist Jack Travis and learn about the fascinating and rich geologic history of the Door Peninsula and Newport State Park.

This hike will start at Lot 2, with a ½ mile hike to the Ridge Trail to view an ancient shoreline. There will be a visit to an ancient beach ridge following the hike.

Covid-19 Guidelines: Group sizes vary and may be limited to promote social distancing. Participants are encouraged to practice social distancing, frequent hand washing and to wear a face covering if social distancing cannot be maintained. All programs will be outdoors.
