History of Days Gone By: Newport’s Founder Peter Knudsen

This is a NWS Wilderness Days Event

Picture Newport State Park as it was in the past, a small farming and timber community, founded in the 1880’s. Hear of the Knudsen family history from Peter Oleson, great-grandson of Peter Knudsen, original founder of Newport.

Meets in the Nature Center, Lot 1.

Historic Newport Town

All programs are free, but a state park admission sticker is required on all vehicles.
Some programs are weather related, so check with the park if you have any questions.
