Each year in early December, Wisconsin state park annual vehicle admission stickers for the upcoming year becomes available for purchase.
DID YOU KNOW that those stickers are designed by high school students chosen in a statewide contest? The design contest, sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), is open to all high school-age students attending public, private or parochial schools or homeschooled in Wisconsin.
If know a student who would like to submit a design to be considered for the 2025 sticker, direct them to this DNR website page: https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/parks/designcontest. Entries must be received by April 30, 2024.
Near the end of each year, a few state parks (ok, their friends groups) volunteer to stuff envelopes with next year’s annual park sticker.
NWS volunteers, over the past few weeks, have been stuffing 24,000 stickers into envelopes. Which is, honestly, a relatively small share of the state park stickers that will eventually be distributed.
