Interpretive Boot Brush Station

As park visitors head off to the beach and hiking trails from the Lot 3 parking lot, they will see, and hopefully use, a newly installed interpretive boot brush station.

NWS volunteers have installed 10 new brush stations at a variety of critical locations around the park: near campsites and along trails that lead to/from/through areas where invasive species have taken hold. Controlling the introduction of invasive species and limiting their spread from areas where they are already established, are top priorities for NWS.

Our thanks to Maureen Flatley for researching and coordinating the purchase of the new brush stations. And our thanks to Tom Flatley and the NWS volunteers who have been installing them. (We began this installation project in the fall of 2024.)
