Writing workshops at Newport
for members and friends of Newport Wilderness Society
presented by Write On, Door County
This is a special opportunity for members and friends of NWS to explore and reflect on the natural world using Newport SP as a backdrop and source of inspiration for writing. Overcome any intimidation around writing and learn how to describe feelings of awe and wonder.
What to expect at each 2-hour session:
- A presentation by Newport SP Naturalist Beth Bartoli
- Instruction by a Write On, Door County writer-in-residence
- Writing and reflection time
Attend one, some, or all workshops.

Wednesday, September 13 at 7:00pm with writer-in-residence Carlos Reyes
Saturday, November 18 (writing facilitator and time announced soon)
Saturday, January 13, 2024 (writing facilitator and time TBA)
Tuesday, May 7, 2024 (writing facilitator and time TBA)
Selected final works will be installed along the Poetry Trail.
There is no cost for participating in the program, but space is limited, so best to RSVP early! Send your RSVP/intention to attend to Jerod Santek.
